Salon Assistant/Stylist

​At Stephanie Louis Salon, owners Stephanie and Lou, along with our stylists and staff, want you to feel like you're home. We each have our own specialties, whether it's pixie cuts, bobs, bayalage, deva cuts for curly girls, or highlights and spectacular color. We want to make your hair beautiful while you spend time in a relaxed, down-to-earth, and family-like atmosphere.The salon has been here on the corner of Mass Ave and Waltham Street in Lexington Center, convenient to the stores and restaurants of Lexington Center, for 15 years.

We are seeking a dedicated Salon Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the beauty industry and a desire to learn and grow within a salon environment. You will participate in our Associate Training Program taught by the Salon owner, Matt Carlson (check out his Instagram @mattcarlsonhair). He is internationally trained and skilled in: Balayage, foil work, lived-in color, scissor/raiser cutting and certified in hair extensions. Come join our team. Learn from the best. • Assist stylists with various tasks to ensure smooth salon operations
• Perform shampooing, conditioning treatments, and blow-drying services
• Help maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards
• Greet clients and provide excellent customer service
• Assist with retail sales and inventory management
• Learn advanced skills in color work, cutting techniques and hair extensions
• Utilize salon software for scheduling appointments and managing client information

• Current Massachusetts cosmetology license or if you are a student in a cosmetology school, you can enroll in our internship program.
• You must be dependable, and customer orientated.
• Ability to use salon software for scheduling and client management.
• Understanding of sanitation practices.
• Willingness to learn and be mentored by senior stylists.
