Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service through attentive consultations, understanding clients' hair goals, and offering personalized recommendations. Ensure clients feel comfortable, valued, and confident in their services.
- Perform high-quality haircuts and styling for a variety of hair types and textures, including blowouts, braids, formal styling, and dry cutting.
- Apply color treatments such as highlights, balayage, color corrections, root touch-ups, and other specialized services. Stay current with new coloring techniques, products, and trends.
- Advise clients on suitable hair care products and tools, ensuring they understand how to use them effectively for long-lasting results. Actively promote retail products and meet sales targets.
- Ensure that your workstation, tools, and salon areas are consistently clean, sanitary, and well-organized according to salon policies and state regulations.
- Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues with overflow clients and assisting with tasks as needed. Foster a positive work environment and contribute to a collaborative, energetic atmosphere.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and best practices. Participate in continuing education workshops and training to enhance your skill set and maintain certification.
- Build lasting relationships with clients through excellent service and proactive appointment scheduling to encourage repeat business.
- Follow all salon policies regarding safety, sanitation, dress code, and professional conduct. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing and health protocols.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience as a hairstylist in a salon setting, demonstrating a strong portfolio of hairstyling, cutting, and coloring skills. Experience in a variety of hair textures and styles is preferred.
- A valid cosmetology license (or equivalent) issued by the state of Massachusetts. Must meet all legal and professional requirements to practice as a hairstylist in the state.
- Previous experience in customer service, with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively and professionally with clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Proficient in a wide range of hairstyling techniques, including haircuts, blowouts, braids, color applications (balayage, highlights, color corrections), and formal styling.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your hairstyling work is preferred. Please include photos of your work across different hair types and textures, as well as any specialized services you offer (e.g., color corrections, special occasion styling, etc.).
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain services and product recommendations to clients. Ability to work collaboratively with team members and build rapport with clients.
- Ability to efficiently manage time and appointments, ensuring that each client receives quality service while maintaining punctuality and meeting salon goals.
- Highly dependable with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Willingness to assist others and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Friendly, approachable, and passionate about the beauty industry with a focus on continuous learning and improvement. Must demonstrate a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to promote and sell salon products and services effectively, helping to meet salon revenue goals while ensuring clients receive the best care and product recommendations.

Our Salon Hours:
- Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Saturday - Sunday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Mondays: Closed
