Position Summary:

The Operations Manager leads and supports salon/spa staff towards maximizing sales, productivity and profit goals, while maintaining expenses within salon’s budget, promoting overall salon safety and quality guest services in a harmonious work environment with a wide variety of personality types. The Operations Manager trains, contributes and is responsible of the day-to-day successful operations of the front desk and the salon, while maintaining expense management. The Operations Manager works closely with and reports directly to the District and Regional Managers, performing all duties as deemed necessary in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth by the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Maintains cost-effective staff schedule coverage necessary to meet or exceed established budgeted sales, profits and productivity goals. Analyzes salon/spa sales, expenses and trend reports to determine ongoing standards for weekly revenue goals, staff productivity goals, average ticket goals and customer retention goals.

-Actively recruits and holds interviews as needed. OM trains and supports desk staff and arranges for stylists’ development training.

- Ensures staff conducts each segment of guest’s visit courteously and efficiently, as per Company client retention procedures. Resolves all guest complaints and conflicts professionally and diplomatically in a timely manner with the “utmost, above and beyond cordial approach”.

-Maintains daily reception desk operations, booking appointment procedures and up-selling services.

-Maintains monthly staff meetings and performance review appraisals.

-Maintains a fashion forward image following company dress code, employee and client safety, State Board of Cosmetology sanitation and recognition, Massachusetts state legal compliances, and Company policy standards.

- Maintains successful retail and service product orders and inventory control to produce maximum salon profitability.

-Maintains marketing and promotional packages, including merchandising designed to not only generate new business, but to also promote and increase salon/spa’s present service and retail business.

-Acts as liaison between corporate and salon/spa staff, following through with all department procedures and requested paperwork by corporate staff.

- Plus, any other duties deemed necessary by the Company.

Specific Job Requirements:

- Exceptional verbal and written English language and computer skills. (other language fluency a plus)

- Leadership, organizational and motivational skills to foster a productive “yes can do” team approach.

- Outstanding customer service knowledge and skills.

- Understanding of how finance relates to salon business success and train others on it.

-Possess strong work ethics, leading staff by example.

- Knowledge of State Board of Cosmetologist Rules & Regulations and hiring requirements

- Project a fashion forward image and grooming standards in line with Company expectations in the beauty industry.

- Minimum 2 years successful salon experience.

- Meet schedule requirements by working the hours and days the salon is open - days/nights/weekends/holidays.

-Ability to multi-task and work in a demanding fast paced environment.

-Stand the majority of the workday.

-May have to lift product boxes of up to 30 pounds.

- May have to work on computer for lengthy periods of time.

- Work with chemicals consistently used in salons.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
