Position Overview

As a Salon Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our salon operates smoothly and that our clients receive excellent service from start to finish. You'll assist with day-to-day tasks, provide support to our stylists, and help maintain a clean, welcoming environment for both clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer refreshments and assist clients with any initial needs
• Assist stylists with prep work (e.g., shampooing, setting up workstations, color mixing)
• Keep workstations and salon floors clean and organized
• Oversee product stock and replenishment
• Ensure towels, capes, and other salon materials are ready and available
• Develop a strong understanding of the salon's product line and services offer and stay updated on new offerings and techniques
• Help promote and educate clients about retail products and salon services
• Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and salon surfaces as needed
• Help with applying color or treatments when needed, depending on training
• Assist with other tasks as needed to support the team

Requirements

• Valid Massachusetts cosmetology license or enrollment in a cosmetology program
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and cleanliness
• Ability to stand for long periods and assist with various tasks
• Team player with a collaborative attitude
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of hair care products and styling techniques
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
